about

The Federalist Society was founded on the principles that the state exists to preserve freedom, that the separation of governmental powers is central to our Constitution, and that it is emphatically the province and duty of the judiciary to say what the law is, not what it should be.

The Maine Lawyers Chapter seeks to carry out that mission here in the Pine Tree State, principally by facilitating discussions and debates of hot-button legal and social issues. We support the Student Chapter at the University of Maine Law School, and we host lunch, dinner, and social events to engage the community.
